Early-Stage Innovation Forum at AusMedtech 2025

The Early-Stage Innovation Forum (ESIF) at AusMedtech 2025 will spotlight Australia’s emerging technologies, offering an exclusive platform for innovators to present their groundbreaking projects to industry experts and investors. This is your chance to showcase your technology, gain valuable feedback from an expert panel, and connect with investors to accelerate your commercialisation journey.

Taking place on Wednesday, 7 May at ICC Sydney, the forum will feature rapid-fire presentations from research institutes, universities, hospitals, and pre-series A companies. Presentations will focus on cutting-edge innovations in:

  • Medical devices and diagnostics

  • Digital health

  • Enabling technologies

By participating, you will:

  • Gain expert feedback from medtech investors and business leaders to strengthen your commercialisation strategy.

  • Increase visibility among key stakeholders looking for emerging technologies and partnership opportunities.

  • Connect with decision-makers who can support your growth, from funding to market entry.

Key details:

  • Presenters will have 7 minutes to pitch their innovation, followed by a 3-minute Q&A/feedback session with the expert investor panel.

  • Successful applicants will receive one (1) Wednesday Day Pass registration for the presenter. Additional registrations can be purchased through the conference website.


All applicants must have the ability to present, in-person at the ICC Sydney on Wednesday 7 May.

Applicants are invited to submit their project before 27 March to be considered for a presentation slot on the program. All projects submitted will be reviewed and shortlisted by our appointed Advisory Group. Successful applicants will be notified in March.

Considerations: Submissions from each state will be considered to ensure representation across Australia. AusBiotech is committed to diversity and inclusion, and actively incorporates gender balance, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its event program.

Successful submissions will have the opportunity to:

  • Present an in-person pitch of their project to a panel of experts and investors

  • Receive feedback from our expert investor panel to assist with commercialising their technology

  • Win the award for Best Translational Research for AusMedtech 2025

  • Feature in AusBiotech publications and media channels

To be considered to present your early-stage technology in the forum, you are required to answer six questions via the online portal:

  7. Project description (maximum 300 words) – please include high level details on the technology, stage of development and what is the problem the innovation will solve

  8. Have you raised any funds for this specific project/innovation? If yes, please indicate (i) amount and (ii) source

  9. What is the investment you are looking for? Please indicate (i) amount (ii) when will these funds be required (iii) proposed use of funds and expected outcome from this spend (max 150 words)

  10. Attach your (non-confidential) brief deck or relevant information
