Submit your abstract to save on registration

Submit your abstract for the chance to receive a discounted rate on your registration to AusMedtech 2017 & ICMMB 2017. Delegates who are selected to present their abstract as an oral presentation in the ICMMB program will save $200 and register at the discounted rate of $440 incl. GST (conference only). Take advantage of this special offer and submit your abstract before Friday 3 March 2017. 

Abstract submission

Abstracts must be submitted through the online portal which can be accessed by clicking here. Abstracts are to be no more than one A4 page in length and must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the submissions guidelines.

The poster display will be placed in the conference venue during the International Conference on Mechanics in Medicine and Biology. Further details, including instructions and format, will be provided in the acceptance letter.

Anyone submitting an oral or a poster abstract must also be intending to register for the ICMMB.

Authors will be responsible for all costs including registration, travel, accommodation, any costs associated with preparation of the poster, or other costs associated with attendance at the event. 

You will have two weeks to complete the registration once notified if your abstract is successful. 


There are eight different themes where you can submit an abstract for:

  • Advances in medical devices - Design and optimisation
  • Advances in stem cell therapies
  • Biomechanics and computer modelling/simulation
  • Bioprinting and biofabrication
  • Electrospinning
  • Medical, rehabilitation robotics and assistive devices
  • Neuroscience and neuro-engineering
  • Tissue engineering and biomaterials


Abstract submission timeline

November 2016: Abstract submission portal opens

Friday 3 March 2017: Abstracts must be submitted through the abstract submission website before Tuesday 31 January 2017 at 5.00pm (EST).

Monday 6 March 2017: Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee.

Week commencing 6 March 2017: Authors will be notified of the results and if they have been chosen to present an oral or poster presentation at the AusMedtech & ICMMB conference 2017.

Friday 24 March 2017: All accepted presenters must register to attend AusMedtech & ICMMB 2017; if registration is not received before this date it is assumed the presenter has withdrawn their abstract.

Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May 2017: Successful abstracts submissions to give oral presentation or display poster during the conference
